Guide rail
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To reduce the exposure of workers to radiation in a nuclear power plant by providing an annular guide rail with a traveling mechanism and a clamping mechanism in a remote control automatic ultrasonic wave flaw detection device. CONSTITUTION:A guide rail 22 that is equipped with a probe driving device is installed on a piping 13 outside of a shielding door, and, after this, the shielding door is opened, and a guide rail 22 that incorporates a driving roller 80 is made to travel on the piping 13 automatically up to the nozzle section. At a certain position a claw 81 that is incorporated in the guide rail 22 is made to project in response to a remote instruction to clamp the guide rail 22 on to the piping. Since, with this arrangement, flaw detection can be performed with automatic clamping, workers do not have to enter the area of high level radioactivity, and their radiation exposure can be thereby reduced in a great deal.
