Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To set up the system timing in an easy way, by including the distance code depending unequivocally on the transmission delay time of the inter-office signal on a communication cable into the address code of a packet transmitted from each station and as a result enabling the calculation of the delay time of the inter-office from the address code. CONSTITUTION:The codes which are related well-definedly in the transmission delay time of the signal on a coaxial cable 3 are used as address Nos. nS, nC and NR of stations S, C and R respectively. For instance, a terminator 2 is set as a reference point and the delay times corresponding to the distances up to taps 41-4N on the cable 3 extending upward are coded in the form of address codes. Thus the transmission delay time of signal between stations is shown in the form of a difference of the address Nos. of stations.
