Control method of magnetic recording device

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To erase unnecessary information in addition to data write, with accurate data write, by controlling a read/write head and an erasing head independently. CONSTITUTION:A microcomputer 1 controls an FDC 3 via a CPU interface 2 and an FDD 5 via an FDD interface 4. A readout circuit 52 of the FDD 5 reads out data of a disc with an R/W head 510 and transfers a data RD to the FDC 3. When a write gate signal W/G is inputted from the FDC 3 via a gate 57, a write circuit 53 writes a write data WD from the FDC 3 on the disc with the R/W head 510. When the W/G signal and an erasing control signal ERC is inputted from the FDC 3 via a gate 53 and an OR circuit 55, an erasing circuit 54 operates and erasing head 511 with an ER signal. Thus, accurate data write is carried out an the erasing of unnecessary information can be made in addition to the data write.
