Headlamp tilting device

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To reduce the installation space and to facilitate the fitting by storing a movable member moving a lamp operation rod back and forth with a drive motor and a potentiometer detector with its resistance value varied by a rotary shaft connected to the movable member in the same case. CONSTITUTION:The revolution of a drive motor 2 is transmitted to a wormwheel through an output shaft 5 and a wormgear 6, moving the operation rod 3 back and forth in accordance with its rotating direction. When the wormwheel 7 is rotated, the operation rod 3 is moved in the axial direction, and a rotary shaft 15 is rotated through a pinion 16 coupled with a rack section 14, thus the resistance value of a potentiometer 4 is varied. Also the lower end of a headlamp holding ring 17 is moved back and forth in response to the back-and- forth movement of the operation rod 3, resulting in a tilt of a headlamp unit 18.
