Novel resin composition

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To provide a compsn. having improved processability without lowering heat distortion temperature, by blending an ethylene/unsaturated carboxylic acid ester copolymer with a thermoplastic styrene elastomer-contg. polyphenylene oxide resin compsn. CONSTITUTION:0.5-25pts.wt. ethylene/unsaturated carboxylate ester copolymer such as an ethylene/ethyl acrylate copolymer and 0.5-25wt% thermoplastic styrene elastomer composed of terminal polystyrene block and central (hydrogenated) diene rubber block, are blended with 100pts.wt. polyphenylene oxide resin alone or as a mixture with polystyrene resin to obtain the titled resin compsn. EFFECT:Moldings having excellent resistance to impact and chemicals and surface appearance can be obtd.
