Disazo dye for polyester fiber

Abstract

Abstract NEW MATERIAL:Disazo compounds of formulaIwherein X is H, Cl, nitro, trifluoromethyl; Y is cyano, carbamoyl, alkoxycarbamoyl; K is a group of formula II, III, IV or V, wherein R<1> is H, Cl, OH, alkyl, alkoxy, phenyl; R<2> is alkyl, alkoxyalkyl, hydroxyalkyl, aralkyl. USE:Disazo dyes which dye polyester fibers orange to purple with excellent fastness to light. PREPARATION:An amine of formula VI (wherein X is as defined above) is diazotized, and then coupled with an aminothiophene of formula VII (wherein Y is as defined above). The resulting monoazo compd. of formula VIII is diazotized and then coupled with a compd. of the formula K-H (wherein K is as defined above) to produce the desired compd. of formulaI.
