Heat exchanger core made of aluminum
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain desired corrosion retarding effect by adding a specific amt. of Zn in Al of core materials for cooling fins and brazing filler metals for in- furnace braxing so that the Zn layers applied beforehand on the outside surfaces of liquid flow tubes form Zn diffused layers by the heating effect during brazing. CONSTITUTION:A heat exchanger core 1 made of Al is manufactured by using cooling films 3 coated with brazing filler metals 31 for in-furnace brazing on the sirfaces and binding liquid flow tubes 2 and the fins 3 by in-furnace brazing using non-corrosive fluxes. Here, 0.5-2% Zn is added to the Al materials of the core materials 30 of the fins 3 and the metals 31 or either one of these and Zn layers are applied on the outside surfaces of the tubes 2. When the tubes 2, the fins 3, seat plates 4, 4' are tentatively assembled and are brazed by using the non-corrosive fluxes, Zn diffused layers 5 are formed.
