Gas adsorbent and desorbent

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain a gas adsorbent and desorbent superior in stability and ease of handling, by forming a coacervate with different kinds of water-soluble polymeric compounds and incorporating a complex of iron and porphyrin with this coacervate. CONSTITUTION:A complex of iron porphyrin, such as protohemin[mono-3-(1- imidazolyl)propylamide]having a porphyrin ring and coordinating imidazoles, pyridines, or the like basic ligands around Fe (II) as ligands or axial ligands is incorporated with a coacervate formed with different kinds of water-soluble polymers to form a gas adsorbent and desorbent. At that time, an aq. soln. of 1X10<-4>-1X10<-6>mol porphyrin complex per liter is added to said coacervate aq. soln., and agitated for 1hr to feed the complex to each liquid globules of the coacervate. This adsorbent and desorbent adsorbs O2, Co, and NOx introduced, and easily releases the adsorbed gas by passing an inert gas.
