Error correcting method
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To reduce the anxiety for erroneous correction and impossibility of correction, by adding plural kind of pointers at a front stage when performing decoding at two stages, and utilizing the pointers at the rear stage while considering their difference in reliability. CONSTITUTION:Reproduced 32-word data is applied to a de-interleaver 16. Through the de-interleaver 16, one-word delay circuits are inserted for even- numbered transmission channels, and inverters 17-20 are also inserted for a check word sequence; and the data is applied to a decoder 21. The decoder 21 generates syndrome signals S10-S13 from a parity check matrix HC1 and a 32- word input VT, and on the basis of them, error correction is performed. The decoder 21 outputs 24 PCM data sequences and 4 check-word sequences, and a pointer showing the presence or absence of an error is added to every word in each data sequence. The output data sequences of the decoder 21 are applied to a de-interleaver 22, which performs prescribed delay processing to apply the output to a decoder 23.
