Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To perform the backup reliably by producing the simulated firing signal relative to the referential position signal while driving the firing coil utilizing the simulated firing pulse when the crank angle sensor signal is interrupted. CONSTITUTION:Upon the interruption of the crank angle pulse KP, the signal to the counter 15 is eliminated to stop the counting. Consequently the Q6 output is brought to L while the output from the inverter 19 is brought to H and the AND gate 20 will feed the reset signal S to FF circuit 22 for every referential position pulses KP1, KP2. While since the delay output from the delay circuit 18 is maintained in L, the rest signal R from the AND gate 21 to FF circuit 22 will be maintained L. Consequently FF circuit 22 is set continuously by the set signal S for every production of the referential position pulses RP1, RP2, thereby the set output Q is brought to H thus to produce the abnormality detection signal G. Upon said signal G, the data selector 23 will select the simulated firing signals A', B' from FF circuit 12 and to switch thus to perform the backup.
