Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To enable sheets of paper to be traced even in the occurrence of abnormalities during conveyance by comparing conveying spacings at an inlet with that in an outlet to generate conveying number output corresponding to the result of the comparison. CONSTITUTION:Signals from sensors PS101, PS102 provided respectively at an inlet and outlet of a conveyer path with a predetermined length enter measuring circuits 22, 24 after they are shaped by amplifiers AMP101, AMP102. The measuring circuits 22, 24 comprise respectively a counter for generating conveying sequence cords indicating the conveying sequence every time said circuits detect sheets of paper, a counter for measuring on-time corresponding to the length of the sheet and a counter for measuring off-time corresponding to the conveying spacing of the sheets. The conveying spacings in the inlet and outlet are stored in memories 23, 25 with address corresponding to the conveying number while the conveying spacings are compared with each other by a comparing circuit 26 which generates the conveying number output corresponding to the result of the comparison.
