Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To facilitate the input, editing, correction, etc., of a document, by providing a display part with both a display section for displaying the contents of a document and a display section for displaying auxiliary information on the format, etc., of the document. CONSTITUTION:The document inputted from an input part 1 is displayed at an A display part 21 as shown in a figure (a) and its preset document format is displayed at a B display section 22 symbolically as shown in a figure (b) in such a way that KANA (Japanese syllabary) is represented as ''.'' and areas of graph drawings are represented as ''*''. Further, the document format such as form size, longitudinal/lateral writing discrimination, character pitch, line pitch, etc., is displayed at the header part 31 of the B display part 22. An operator inputs the document while looking at both display parts 21 and 22. This input document is stored in an external memory 8 and printed out on a printer after the input ends. Thus, the document is inputted while the document formation is confirmed, so the input, editing, correction, etc., of the document are carried out easily.
