Magnetic recording material

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To form a high density magnetic recording medium having a large reproducing output and a good S/N ratio, by providing a metallic plated layer on a nonmagnetic substrate and thereon laminating a nickel alloy plated layer and a cobalt alloy plated layer etc. CONSTITUTION:After a nickel-phoshorus plated layer is provided on a nonmagnetic plate (e.g. an aluminum alloy disc), it is mirror-finished to obtain a nonmagnetic substrate 1. A gold plated layer 5 having about 0.1mu film thickness and a nickel alloy plated layer 2 having about 0.3mu film thickness are laminated on the substrate 1 and then a cabalt alloy plated layer 3 having about 0.08mu thickness is formed thereon to obtain a magnetic recording material. (the mark 4 denotes a protecting layer).
