Novel resin composition

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To provide the titled resin compsn. having good processability and excellent resistance to impact and chemicals, by blending a polyphenylene oxide resin, a polystyrene resin and an ethylene/unsaturated carboxylate ester copolymer. CONSTITUTION:90-15pts.wt. polyphenylene oxide (A) of the formula (wherein R1-R4 are each H, halogen, alkyl, alkoxy, haloalkyl contg. no tert. alpha-carbon atom; n >=50) or phenylene oxide copolymer, 10-85pts.wt. polystyrene resin (B) such as homopolystyrene or a diene rubber-modified polystyrene, and 0.1- 10pts.wt. (per 100pts.wt. of the combined amount of components A and B) ethlene/unsaturated carboxylate ester copolymer such as an ethylene/ethyl acrylate copolymer having an ethyl acrylate content of 3-60wt%, are blended together.
