Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To limit the bands of the 1st and 2nd digital color difference signals, and to simplify a circuit, by passing spot-sequence digital color-difference signals through a digital filter 14. CONSTITUTION:Green, red, and blue color signals G, R, and B supplied to input terminals 1G, 1R, and 1B are supplied to A-D converters 2G, 2R, and 2B, where they are converted into digital color signals CG, CR, and CB and processed. Those color signals CG, CR, and CB are supplied through level shifting circuits 4G, 4R, and 4B to an adder 5, which generates a digital luminance signal CY. Said color signal is supplied to prefilters 11R and 11B to limit the band widths to fsc and the resulting signals are supplied to a multiplexer 12. Thus, a spot- sequence digital color signal CR/CB consisting of the color signals CR and CB extracted at every 1/4fsc is obtained. A color difference signal CR-CY/CB-CY from which a luminance signal CY is removed is supplied to a digital filter 14 which limits the band of the color difference signal.
