Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To realize high density, by placing a base magnetic member having an opening part on both ends, on a magnetic disk device having an electromagnetic working machine, installing the electromagnetic working machine to one opening end, and fixing both ends of a rotary shaft to the other opening end. CONSTITUTION: A hub 18 to which a magnetic disk medium 15 has been installed is inserted into a sprindle 19, and to both its ends, a bearing supporting member 17 is installed through a bearing 16. To the other end of a carriage 13 supporting a magnetic head 23 by its one end, a rotor 14 of an electromagnetic working machine is installed. One end part of a base magnetic member 10 has an opening part being almost rectangular, forms a notch part 11 for inserting the bearing supporting member 17, and the other end part has an opening part 12 for inserting a stator 21 of the electromagnetic working machine, and a rail for guiding the carriage 13 is installed to its inside bottom part. In this way, the bearing supporting member 17 is fixed to the notch part 11 of the base magnetic member 10, the stator 21 of the electromagnetic working machine is fixed to the opening part 12, and a cover member 20 is fixed to the base magnetic member 10, by which excessive vibration put on the magnetic head 23 in case of access is reduced.
