Secondary dimension solid-state image sensor and its drive method

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To decrease the variance in amount of bias charge and to obtain on excellent reproduction picture, by injecting a prescribed amount of bias charge and completely transferring this bias charge to a vertical signal line. CONSTITUTION:A horizontal charge coupler 8 to inject the bias charge to a vertical signal line 2 corresponding to another end of the vertical signal line 2 is provided. An input device 9 is provided at one end of the horizontal charge coupler 8, and the bias charge is injected to the device 8. A prescribed amount of bias charge is injected to the device 8 from the input section 9 and this bias charge is completely transferred from each transfer stage of the device 8 to the corresponding vertical signal line.
