Color separation filter

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To conceal overlappings of each color separation layer and disturbance in end parts of picture lines and to improve the accuracy, by installing a light shielding thin film of an inorganic substance on a transparent substrate to form a pattern, and also selectively installing color separation layers of each color in transparent areas in which the thin film is not formed. CONSTITUTION:A light shielding thin film 9 of an inorganic substance is formed on a transparent substrate 8 to form a pattern by a photoetching using a photosensitive resist having an excellent accuracy, and color separation layers 6 composed of three colors, red 6R, green 6G, and blue 6B, made by dyeing a resin having an excellent dyeing affinity, such as gelatine, etc., are installed in transparent areas in which the thin film 9 is not formed. Then, intermediate layers 7 made of a resin which is hardly dyed by dyes, such as polyurethane resin, etc., are formed between each color separation layer 6 and the thin film 9 is made to form a boundary pattern which controls the pattern of the color separation layer 6, and then, a surface protective film 10 made of a transparent resin or an inorganic substance is formed on the surface.
