Ionizing device of mass spectrometer

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To promote the efficiency of ionization, by irradiating a solid sample by laser beams introduced through a transmissible window made in an ionizing chamber. CONSTITUTION:A sample 7 inserted with a sample pipet 8 is ionized gently at a place surrounded with electron by reactive gas ion, pushed out by a repeller system 5, focused by a lens electrode system 3 and drawn out, and ion beams 2 are generated. In this case, laser beams 12 are used as a means of heating the sample 7 quickly. After the laser beams 12 emitted from a laser ray source 9 pass through a window 10 made in an analysis tube 1, further they pass through a window 11 made in an ionizing chamber 4, and the sample 7 is irradiated by them.
