Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain a disk which is capable of fetching an average reproducing output irrespective of size of the radius of rotation, and also has long life, by forming a magnetic film whose surface has been polished, on the surface of a flexible substrate made of synthetic resin, so that the film becomes gradually thick toward the outside circumference from the inside circumference. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic film 2 is formed by applying magnetic paint on the surface a flexible substrate 1 made of synthetic resin such as polyester. It is formed like a disk having a center hole 3 by punching it. Subsequently, this disk 9 is placed on a base plate 5 of a supporting base, and the surface of the magnetic layer 2 is polished so that its thickness becomes gradually thicker toward the outside circumference from the inside circumference by moving a polishing body 10 in the diameter direction (b) (arrowed) so as to synchronize a push rod 11 and a pad 17 against a polishing surfaces 9b, adjusting the polishing pressure, or by means of increasing a moving speed of the polishing body 10 and the pad 17 toward the outside circumference, and the like. In this way, an averaged reproduced output is obtained, and a magnetic disk having a satisfactory surface is manufactured by means production.
