Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To prevent the buckling of the front end of paper and improve the performance of paper supply, by providing a guide plate for preventing the buckling of the front end of the paper, near the pinching parts of sending and a separating rollers which are combined with each other so that their protrusion and recess are opposed to each other. CONSTITUTION: A sending roller 1 and a separating roller 2, which constitute a paper feeder, are not in contact with each other but are arranged so that the protrusions of one of the rollers mesh with the recesses of the other. A guide plate 5 for preventing the front end of paper from being buckled by the separating roller 2 is provided so that the guide plate extends to the region of pinching by both the rollers 1, 2. The guide plate 5 is shaped as comb teeth corresponding to the protrusions of the separating roller 2. According to this constitution, the angle of contact of the paper with the separating roller 2 can be made small enough to avoid the buckling of the front end of the paper and a frictional force stronger than a necessary level is not caused between the paper and the sending roller 1.
