Shroud ring for turbine blade
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE: To reduce loss due to a secondary flow in passages between moving blades and to enhance efficiency of an axial flow turbine by forming in a shroud ring piercing holes each positioned in each passage between the moving blades, and by ataching a leak preventing plate to a position upstream of each piercing hole. CONSTITUTION: Leak preventing plates 2a are attached to a shroud ring each in a position upstream of each piercing hole 12 formed in the shroud ring in each passage between blades 1 of turbine a part of fluid medium 8 is introduced into the piercing holes 12, as an intake flow 13, so that the boundary layer is reduced from δ1 to δ2 for reducing loss due to secondary flow. Further, since a leak flow 11 from the tips of the moving blades 1 impinges to the leak preventing plates 2a, the loss due to the secondary flow can be reduced. With this arrangement, efficiency of an axial flow turbine can be enhanced. COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio
