Hydraulic cylinder for rolling mill

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To shorten the total height of a hydraulic cylinder, and to thin the thickness of a bottom plate of the cylinder, by attaching a protecting cover on the working side of a reducing cylinder, and by installing a stopper on the stationary side for restraining the stroke of the working member. CONSTITUTION:A protecting cover 11 for protecting the outer surface 2 of a ram 1 is attached on the working side of a reducing cylinder. A stopper is provided in this cover 11, and another stopper is provided in a cylinder 6; hereby, the ram 1 is prevented from rushing out of the cylinder 6. Thereby, the cover 11 has a protecting function for the outer surface 2 of the ram 1 and a preventing function for the ram 1 from rushing out of the cylinder 6. At the bottom 14 of the cylinder 6, a part 15 being backed up by a housing 10 is thin-walled, and other parts 16 are thick- walled. By the present constitution, the total height of the cylinder is shortened so that the cylinder is easily built in an electrically reducing type rolling mill.
