Cationized dextran derivative, its production and use
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE: The titled derivative that is made by introducing groups containing quaternary nitrogens into dextran, a glucan with α-1,6'-bond structure, thus being soluble in water, alcohols and showing high affinity to hair and skin and giving films with high flexibility and moisture retention. CONSTITUTION: A cationized dextran derivative of formula I [R is H, formula II (R 1 , R 2 , R 3 are lower alkyl); at least one of Rs is a group containing quaternary nitrogen atom of formula II; n is positive integer of 1W8,000], which is readily obtained by reaction of dextran with a compound of formula III [A is formula IV, V (X is halogen atom)] such as glycidyl trialkylammonium or its salt. The resultant product is readily soluble in water and in a solvent such as ethanol, showing high coagulating and antistatic effects. COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio
