Manufacture of electroformed product

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To obtain an electroformed product of high accuracy at a low cost in a short time by forcing a matrix with an electroformed layer formed on the surface into a heat softened superplastic alloy to adhere the layer to the alloy and detaching the layer from the matrix. CONSTITUTION: A matrix 11 having an optical face 11a is fixed to a cope 1, and an Ni or Ni alloy layer 12 is deposited on the surface of the matrix 11 together with fine powder (abrasive grains) 13 such as diamond powder. They are codeposited by electroforming and form an electrodeposited layer 14. On the other hand, a container 6 is fixed to a drag 4, and a superplastic alloy 7 is put in the container 6. The container 6 is moved to force the maxtrix 11 into the alloy 7. At this time, the heatng temp. dependent on heaters 2, 4 and the forcing pressure and speed are suitably selected to plastically deform the alloy 7 into the surface shape of the layer 14, and they are adhered to each other. After cooling and hardening the alloy 7, by detaching the layer 14 and the alloy 7 from the matrix 11, a grinder having a prescribed concave face 15a is obtd. COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio
