Rear-view mirror for automobile
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To secure the rear-view all the time by a method wherein a mirror plate is rotatably held to a holder and said mirror plate is rotated about the rotation axis normal to the mirror surface in order to remove the rain drops adhered to the mirror surface during rainfall. CONSTITUTION:The holder 4 rotatably holding the mirror plate 5 by means of a ball joint 3 is turnably-to-any-direction supported by a stay 2 fixed to a bonnet. A motor 6 is fixed at the center of the back of the holder 4. The mirror plate 5 is jointed to the tip of the rotary shaft 7, which passes through the opening 4a of the holder 4, of the motor 6. The lead wire 6a of the motor 6 is connected to the power source by passing within the hollow part 2a of the stay 2 and having the switch in the compartment of the automobile in its midway. When it rains, the motor 6 is driven to rotate the mirror plate 5 in order to remove the rain drops adhered to the mirror surface by shaking off with centrifugal force. Further, as another means to remove the rain drops, a wiper 17, which extends straightforwardly from the peripheral marginal part 4b of the holder 4 to the center of the mirror surface 5, is provided in contact with the mirror surface all the time. The rain drops are wiped off by the wiper 17 with the rotation of the mirror plate 5.
