Fixing method

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To make sure fixing treatment possible by controlling heating electric power of a heat fixing device in accordance with the measured heat capacity of transfer paper. CONSTITUTION:The initial temp. of transfer paper 2' fed by a feeding roller 3 is detected with a temp. detector 4 and the temp. information is applied to a control part 11. Thence, when the transfer paper 2' arrives, the electric power to a heater 12 incorporated in a heating roller 13 of a heat capacity measuring device 5 is interrupted, and the roller 13 is kept at a constant temp. The temp. of the roller 13 changing in correspondence to the quantity of heat applied from the roller 13 after the passage of the transfer paper 2' to the transfer paper 2' according to its heat capacity is detected with a temp. detector 15. This temp. information is also applied to the part 11. The part 11 calculates and detects the heat capacity of the transfer paper S' and controls an electric power source circuit 26. Thereby, the electric power supply to a heater 23 as a heating means of a heat fixing device 9 is controlled in accordance with the heat capacity of the transfer paper and the heat fixing treatment of the transfer paper having different heat capacities is accomplished surely.
