Preparation of water-swelling substance

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To prepare the titled substance having excellent water-proofing properties and processability, and suitable as a coking material, water-stopping material, etc., by kneading a specific water-swelling polyurethane resin composition with natural rubber, etc. CONSTITUTION: A water-swelling polyurethane resin composition containing natural rubber, synthetic rubber or synthetic resin dispersed therein, is prepared by reacting (A) a water-swelling polyurethane prepolymer containing terminal isocyanate group with a latex composed of natural rubber, synthetic rubber, or synthetic resin emulsified and dispersed in water. The component (B) (50% solid content) is pref. 3W500pts.wt. per 100pts.wt. of the component (A), and the composition may be incorporated with a hardener, if necessary. The objective water-swelling substance can be obtained by kneading 100pts.wt. of said composition with pref. 50W1,000 pts.wt. of natural rubber and/or synthetic rubber. COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio
