Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To perform welding work with high working performance, good accuracy and ease in the stage of welding a cylindrical body to the surface of a tubular cylindrical body by providing an operator's platform which rotates and a welding rod supply guiding cylinder above the cylindrical body and making weld zones observable. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical body B is fitted concentrically to the groove a' provided on the outside circumferential surface of a tubular cylindrical body A, and while a welding rod 5 is rotated around the body B, the groove is build-up- welded successively to multiple layers. Here, an operator's platform 1 which rotates concentrically with the body B is placed on the body B and while it is rotated by means of rollers 3a, the operator on a seat 8 operates the simultaneously rotating rod 5, thereby welding both bodies. A cathode ray tube 10 is placed on the control panel 9 on the platform 1 and welding conditions are projected on the tube 10 with an image pickup tube 11. The operator performs the welding work while observing these. The welding is accomplished with high accuracy and good working efficiency.
