Rubber composition having improved strength and its preparation
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE: A composition, obtained by incorporating a mixed system of a conjugated diene rubber with an ethylene-propylene copolymeric rubber with a crystalline α-olefinic high polymer, a nucleating agent and a vulcanizing system, and having improved strength and ozone resistance. CONSTITUTION: A composition obtained by incorporating (A) 100pts.wt. total of (A) 10W90pts.wt. conjugated diene rubber and (B) 90W10pts.wt. ethylene-propylene copolymeric rubber with (C) at least 1pt.wt. crystalline α-olefinic high polymer and (D) at least 0.05pt.wt., based on 100pts.wt. component (C), nucleating agent affecting the crystallization of the component (C) and then a vulcanizing system. A mixture of the high polymer with the ethylene-polylene copolymeric rubber and the nucleating agent uniformly mixed at a temperature of the melting point or solftening point of the crystalline α-olefinic high polymer or above is incorporated with the conjugated diene rubber. Preferably, 50W90pts.wt. component (A) is incorporated with 50W10pts.wt. component (B) to satisfy the strength and the ozone resistance at the same time. COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio
