Transmission path for infrared ray
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:A transmission path for infrared rays having high thermal stability, obtained by preparing core glass and cladding glass having different NaF contents, comprising ZrF4, BaF2, NaF, LaF2, and AlF3 in a specific ratio. CONSTITUTION:The titled path consisting of core glass and cladding glass having a lower refractive index than that of the core glass, having a composition consisting of 52-69mol% ZrF4, 10-24mol% BaF2, 9-25mol% NaF, 1-7mol% LaF2, and 2-5mol% AlF4, and the total amount of ZrF4, BaF2, NaF, and LaF2 of >=90mol%, having a higher NaF content of the cladding glass than that of the core glass. By these core glass and cladding glass, a transmission path for infrared rays, especially one for transmitting infrared rays of about 2-6mum can be formed.
