Steering lock
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To ensure safety by assembling a manual operating member to a housing, providing a cam protrusion on a key cylinder or a rotor which forms a unitary body together with the cylinder, and providing the constitution wherein a key cannot be turned unless the ket and the manual operating member are concurrently operated by both hands. CONSTITUTION:The manual operating part 24, which is energized by a spring 26 and can be operated against the spring, is provided on the side of an ignition switch 11 of the housing 1. The cam protrusion 27 is provided on the key cylinder 3 or rotor 6 which forms a unitary body together with the cylinder. When the angle of the key cylinder 3 is advanced from a locking position to the other position based on the relationship between the cam protrusion 27 and a notch part 28 of the manual operating member 24, the manual operating member 24 is released. When the member is turned back, the restoration to the locking position of the key K is blocked. In this constitution, since the key cannot be turned unless the key K and the manual operating member 24 are concurrently operated by both hands, the key K is not pulled out carelessly.
