Photosensitive silver halide emulsion
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the titled emulsion with high sensitivity, superior graininess, superior sharpness, quick processability and high covering power by coating particles of a silver halide contg. silver iodide as cores with a silver halide contg. no silver iodide as shells having a specified thickness. CONSTITUTION: For example, particles of a single dispersion silver halide such as silver bromide contg. 0.5W10mol% silver iodide are covered with silver bromide, silver chloride or silver chlorobromide contg. no silver bromide as shells having 0.01W0.1μm thickness to manufacture the titled emulsion. By compensating the disadvantageous characteristics of the silver halide particles contg. silver iodide such as inhibition in development and fixing with said shells while utilizing the high sensitivity of the particles, quick processability and high covering power as well as high sensitivity, superior graininess and superior sharpness are provided.
