Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To detect a rotation angle and a reference position simultaneously and accurately, by providing two specific plates which face to each other and one of which is rotated, a periodic signal supplying circuit, a rotation signal generating circuit, a reference signal generating circuit, etc. CONSTITUTION:The first plate 140 having the first and the second electrodes 141 and 142 in the first input side, which are arranged alternately in the circumferential direction, and the third and the fourth electrodes 147 and 148 in the second semicircular input side, which are arranged on the same circumference, and the second plate 150 in the rotating side having the first and the second output-side electrodes 151, 152, 157 and 158 facing to respective electrodes of the first plate are provided. A periodic signal supplying circuit which supplies signals of a prescribed period with phases opposite to each other to respective electrodes in input sides, a rotation signal generating circuit which detects the phase state between signals, which appear in electrodes in respective output sides in accordance with the rotation of the plate 150, and signals from the periodic signal supplying circuit to generate a rotation signal, a reference signal generating circuit which generates a reference signal, etc. are provided.
