Printing head for dot type printer

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a printing head for a dot type printer capable of simultaneously effecting the printing of a character and a horizontal rule mark by an arrangement wherein a printing head is provided with a plurality of dots for the horizontal rule mark in the direction of a printing row as well as a dot line for printing a character. CONSTITUTION: A printing head 6 is moved rightwardly and leftwardly with respect to a continuous sheet on a platen and an ink ribbon, and a solenoid is selectively actuated by a predetermined input signal so as to selectively allow a vertical rule mark wire 9a, a horizontal rule mark wire 9b or a character printing wire 9c to be projected, whereby the printing of a vertical rule mark, horizontal rule mark or a character may be effected. On this occassion, another wire 9d is disposed in addition to the wire 9b to provide a plurality of horizontal rule mark wires. The horizontal rule mark wires 9b, 9d are provided separately from the character printing wire 9c, so that the horizontal rule mark is printed at the same time of printing a character. Furthermore, since there are provided a plurality of horizontal rule mark wires 9b, 9d, the number of working processes is correspondingly reduced and the solenoid can be prevented from being overheated.
