Preparation of pigment

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To obtain inexpensive pigment with improved tinting strength and varieties of color, by adsorbing anionic dye chemically on the surface of the crystal of a specific hydrotalcite compound using its high positive charge. CONSTITUTION: A hydrotalcite compound (e.g., a compound shown by the formula II, etc.) shown by the formula I (A 2 is CO 3 2- , SO 4 2- ; x is 0<x<0.4; y is 1W3; z is 0<z<1; m is positive number) is brought into contact with a sufficient amount of anionic dye (e.g., naphthaol yellow-S, etc.) in an aqueous medium so that the anionic dye is adsorbed on the surface of the crystal of the hydrotalcite chemically, to give the desired digment.
