Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To control the concentration of printing by a change of pulse width by adjusting a rise timing and a fall timing of a printing pulse. CONSTITUTION:A thermosensitive element 6 detects a substrate temperature of a thermal head 5, and sends out the output to a pulse power source 7. The pulse power source 7 supplies pulse voltage to a termianl, and a control circuit 8 controls the nonuniformity of concentration generated when printing is conducted at high speed. Fixed data, heating element selective signals and data corresponding to the concentration of gradation printing, are inputted to the data input terminal 9 of the control circuit 8. The heating element selective signals are sent to the thermal head 5 from the control circuit 8, and data corresponding to the concentration of gradation printing are forwarded to the pulse power source 7. The pulse power source 7 controls the pulse width of pulse voltage of the pulse power source 7 by the output of the control circuit 8 being subject to the data and the output of the thermosensitive element 6.
