Flexible valve
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE: To effectively blockade or control the flow of fluid, particularly a gas containing dust by a construction wherein the plural number of flexible sacks around the passage of fluid between the inlet and outlet of a case. CONSTITUTION: The plural number of flexible sacks 4 having inwardly a closed chamber 6 are provided around the passage of fluid formed between the inlet 2 and outlet 3 of a case 1. When compressed air is supplied from an air intake 7 provided in the closed chamber 6, the sack 4 expands its flexible structure toward the center of the passage of fluid as shown by a chain line with two dots, so the adjoining sacks 4 flexibly touch each other, blockading the passage. On the other hand, when the pressurized condition is cancelled, elasticity caused by the flexible projection of the sack 4 or a filament 5 connected to part of the sack contracts it to the original shape. Thus the dust attached to the sack 4 is peeled off by the expansion and contraction of the sack 4, protecting the air-tightness of a valve. COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio
