Electronic translator

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To display or output by an audible sound sentence or word information that corresponds to category information, required for conversation particularly in a world tour, by inputting the category information with keys and then by outputting the corresponding sentence or word information. CONSTITUTION: With category input key CK provided on the panel surface of an electronic translator body, category information is inputted and encoded by encoder EC. The coincidence between the obtained code and the contents of temporary memory register SR stored selectively with address from memory unit MU is detected by code coincidence detection part CP by depressing translation start key SK. Then, the address of unit MU is selected by address decoder AD and sentence or word information that corresponds to the category information from unit MU is inputted to register R, thereby displaying or outputting the sentence or word information, inputted to register R, on display DSP or from speaker SP via voice synthesizer VS under the control of display control part DSC.
