Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To carry out recording of two-color copies by making positive development and reversal development by the use of two kinds of toners differing in color and charging polarity, and changing the charging polarities of the toners stuck on the image region to the same polarity then transferring the same. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a photoreceptor is charged to an initial charging potential V0, after which the potential of the exposure region by a copying exposure system 13 is kept at the intermediate level between the initial charging potential and zero potential, and a secondary exposure region having nearly zero potential is formed in this region by a secondary exposure system 10, whereby the two latent images of the same charging polarity are formed. Next, positive development and reversal development are made by using two kinds of toners differing in color and charging potential by a developer provided with a magnetic roller 4, and the charging potentials of the toners stuck on the image region are changed to the same polarity by a corotron 6 for force charging, after which ordinary transferring is performed by a corotron 8 for transfer.
