Signal decoding system

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To improve apparent picture quality by performing recording operation while judging that decoded data has been decoded with tolerable accuracy if, even for a wrong line, its bit length is not deviated much from a normal value. CONSTITUTION:Input data is decoded by decoding circuit 1, whose decoded output signal is stored in one-line memory 2 successively. Simultaneously, it is supplid to one-line-length counting circuit 3, whose count result ND is compared by discriminating circuit 5 with the normal bit length, e.g. 1728, so that if the error is within permissible range (delta), the contents of said one-line memory 2 will be read out and used. On the other hand, when it is not within the range, the contents of last-line memory 6 are read and used.
