Abstract NEW MATERIAL:A compound shown by the formula I (R is methyl or ethyl; when R is methyl, Z is p-chlorophenyl or 5,6,7,8-tetrahydronaphthyl, when R is ethyl, Z is phenyl or p-chlorophenyl). EXAMPLE: 4-Methoxy-6-(p-chlorophenylethyl)-5,6-dihydro-2H-pyran-2-one. USE: A remedy and preventive for hyperlipemia.
