Abstract NEW MATERIAL:A glycidyl group-containing compound shown by the formula I [F is a group shown by the formula II (R and R 1 are H or methyl; a is 0 or 1; K is 1 or 2), shown by the formula III, etc. having a dye skeleton; E is a group shown by the formula IV [T is -CH 2 OC(=0)CH 2 CH 2 C=(=0)O-,-CH 2 O-, or -CH 2 OCH 2 CH 2 O-]; b is 0 or 1; x is 1 or 2]. EXAMPLE: A compound shown by the formula V. USE: A raw material for high polymer dye. A new dye material, and material for photochromic display and lectrophoretic display. A photosensitizing material, desensitizing material, and material for indicating pH or oxidation and reduction. A material for photocell and solar cell. A photo electrically conducting material. A starting material for synthesizing a dye derivative, etc. Properties obtained immediately after preparation can be maintained for a long time, and soluble in various kinds of solvents.
