Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To prevent the dashing of back injection stream to a transom by providing a back injection nozzle for steering with a fin to direct the back injection stream obliquely downward. CONSTITUTION: When a forward-backward switching bucket 29 is turned to close a rear opening of a steering nozzle 23, the water running backward in the nozzle 23 is dashed to the bucket 29 to be separated to the right and left, and conducted into a back injection nozzle 27 through a connecting port 26. Since this water is jetted out from the nozzle 27 obliquely downward to the front, a ship 1 is given its reaction force, that is, a backward propulsion. At this stage, the back injection stream is regulated obliquely downward to the front by a fin 28 provided on the nozzle 27. Since this construction regulates the injection stream directed to a transom 3, the injection stream is prevented from dashing to the transom 3 for promoting the suction and injection efficiency of an impeller.
