Manufacturing of superconductor
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To improve the cooling efficiency of a superconductor by arranging adjacently and alternately superconductive wires and wires made of a low-melting- point metal around the outer periphery of a stabilizing material of copper or aluminum, intertwisting them, and heating the entire part to the wires at a temperature above the melting point of the low-melting point metal to fix the stabilizing material to the superconducor wires. CONSTITUTION:A stabilizing material 1 of copper or aluminum is delivered from a bobbin 2. Thereafter superconductive wires 3 and low-melting-point metal wires 4 are delivered from bobbins 5 and 6, respectively, and arranged alternately and adjacently at the stabilizing material 1 by vertical attaching or intertwisting, and concentrated on a concentrating dies 7. Then, after adding a slight throttle by dies 8 to the entire part of the wire, the wire is continuously supplied to a heating tank 9 held at a temperature above the melting point of the low-melting-point metal wire 4, and is passed therethrough. Then, the stabilizing material 1 and the low- melting-point wire are fused together by a low-melting-point metal, and passed through a cooling tank 10, and a superconductor 12 is taken up to the take-up bobbin thereby to improve the cooling efficiency of the superconductor 12.
