Transfer type electrophotographic sensitive medium

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To elongate the life of a sensitive medium by using a solvent whose solvent power to a sensitizing dye is weaker than that of a sensitizing dye dyeing solvent as a binder solvent. CONSTITUTION: A powdered photoconductive substance dyed with a sensitizing dye is added to a soln. prepared by dissolving a diluting solvent-free binder resin obtd. by a pressure sensitive heating method or other method in a solvent whose solvent power to the sensitizing dye is weaker than that of the sensitizing dye dyeing solvent. They are then dispersed and mixed, and the resulting sensitive coating is applied to a support to manufacture a sensitive medium. The solvent used includes ketone type ones such as acetone, methyl ethyl ketone and diethyl ketone, cellosolve type ones such as ethylene glycol monomethyl ether and carbitol type ones such as diethylene glycol monomethyl ether.
