Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To compensate the error fo characteristics based on manufacturing error, by providing a reactance element is series to or in parallel with transmission lines constituting a coupler. CONSTITUTION:In manufacturing a directional coupler where a plurality of a transmission lines of 1/4 wave length through etched copper laminated substrates are provided manufacturing error at the etching process is caused. To compensate this error, reactance elements 8, 9 such as inductance or capacitor are connected in series to or in parallel with the transmission lines. The calculation value can almost be satisfied by connecting a capacitor of around 4 PF is capacitance in series with the transmission lines 0.82mm. and 0.25mm. as measured values respectively, in comparison with the line 0.9mm. and 0.25mm. is line distance as the design value. Thus, the manufacture yield for directional couplers requiring high accuracy can be made.
