Supporting apparatus for recording head

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To prevent gap fluctuation of follower rollers due to displacement thereof in a direction along the length of a drum, by locating a rotational center of a head supporting body on or adjacent to a line connecting two points on the drum where the follower rollers abut. CONSTITUTION: The head supporting body 2 is pivotally mounted on a holder 4 movable toward or away from the drum 6 such that the pivotal center is located on or adjacent a line connecting two points where the follower rollers 2 1 , 2 2 abut on the drum. Since a rotating shaft 3 will be in the way of rotation of the drum 6 if the center of the rotating shaft 3 is positioned on said line, to obviate this a part of the rotational shaft 3 is removed to have an arcuate shape in cross section. In consequense when the head supporting body 2 is rotated about the shaft 3, the resulting displacement of the rollers 2 1 , 2 2 along the length of the drum is very small, and therefore the gap fluctuation can be reduced.
