Expanded-character print controller of printer

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To make expanded characters easy to read by making the print line width large by prolonging the contact time of a hammer by making the hammer pulse width of a print digit, a constitutent element of an expanded character, longer than the hammer pulse width of another digit, with regard to a printer. CONSTITUTION: As for a print digit which becomes a constituent element of an expanded character, one flag bit is added when a print data code is sent from data source 11. In print operation, when the print digit with the added flag bit agrees with a type code, a coincident signal is outputted onto line 15a and hammer control part 31, when receiving the coincident signal, rewrites the print data code of the corresponding digit into (OA) 16 . As a result, the hammer pulse width of the corresponding digit becomes longer than useal and the contact time of the hammer is prolonged to make larger than lateral-directional line width of the print character, so that the expanded charactor will become easier to read.
