Program runaway detecting method

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To make it easy to clear up the cause of runaway occurrence by making it possible to confirm a program module where a runaway occurs, by referring a program-module characteristic code memory area to its trace at the time of the runaway occurrence. CONSTITUTION: In RAM4 that is stored with a micro (μ) program and has program-by-program constitution divided so that a jamp destination is in a μ program, characteristic code memory area 7 is provided. Further, ROM3 rewritable through soft-ware is provided and RAM4 and ROM3 are connected to μ processor 6 that executes the μ program to make it possible for processor 6 to trace RAM4. Prior to μ-program-by-μ-program execution, its characteristic codes are stored in area 7 and on the completion of the above-mentioned execution, characteristic codes of respective μ programs and those stored in area 7 are checked to detect the runaway of μ programs, so that the cause of the runaway occurrence can easily be cleared up.
